Why this survey is being done - New Zealand Income Support Survey
This survey is being done to help improve the income support system.
It will help us better meet the needs of people and whānau. It will help with changes we are making to ensure that people who come to us for support are treated with respect and dignity, get the support they need, and are able to participate meaningfully in their communities.
The survey will also help us evaluate recent changes to the income support system. It will let us tell the Government how it is tracking with its goals of reducing poverty and having a fair and accessible welfare system.
And the survey will help the Ministry of Social Development and Inland Revenue give the Government advice on what other changes need to be made to achieve these goals.
The information people provide will help shape the income support system to meet the needs of New Zealanders.
