Things we are asking special permission for - New Zealand Income Support Survey
After the interview, interviewers ask for special permission for possibly getting back in touch with people.
They ask if people are happy to provide their contact details so that CBG Public Sector Surveying can check that the survey is being done properly.
If people agree and are selected for one of these checks it will happen within the next two weeks.
People’s name and contact details for a possible check will be kept separate from their answers to the survey questions.
And names and contact details given for this purpose will only be used by CBG Public Sector Surveying for this purpose and won’t be kept once the checking process is finished.
Interviewers also ask if people are happy to provide their contact details so that they can be invited to take part in other possible future surveys.
These possible future surveys would happen within the next two years. Any information they collect would be anonymised. People can agree to be invited but still say ‘no’ if they don’t want to take part at the time.
Names and contact details for a possible future survey will be kept separate from people’s answers to this survey.
People’s name and contact details given for this purpose will only be used for this purpose.
They will be kept by CBG Public Sector Surveying for up to two years and then destroyed.
They won’t ever be given to the Ministry of Social Development or Inland Revenue.
If sooner than two years it is decided that there will be no more future surveys, the details will be destroyed at that time. Names and contact details will only be kept as long as they are needed.
