What will happen to the information people provide - New Zealand Income Support Survey
We will treat the information people give us with care and respect.
The answers people give will be anonymised. That means that there will be no names, addresses or other details that could identify people.
And the answers people give will be combined with the answers collected from many other people, and analysed together.
The anonymised answers will be given to the Ministry of Social Development and Inland Revenue.
Researchers from the Ministry of Social Development and Inland Revenue will then use the anonymised answers for research to help improve the income support system. Other approved researchers, like university researchers, will also use the anonymised answers for research.
These researchers will not be able to identify people from the information they receive.
The only people at the Ministry of Social Development and Inland Revenue that will see the anonymised answers are researchers. No one else at the Ministry of Social Development and Inland Revenue will have access to this information.
If people receive any payments from Work and Income or Inland Revenue, the answers they give will not in any way affect what they receive. Their names will not be visible to any Ministry of Social Development or Inland Revenue staff.
