People and Capability
The People and Capability group is responsible for providing corporate services that provide capability to MSD, shared services for Oranga Tamariki, hosted sector services and support for implementation of the MSD strategic change programme – Te Pae Tawhiti.
People and Capability is made up of the following teams:
Historic claims
The Historic Claims team manages claims of abuse or neglect for people who were in the care, custody or guardianship of the Child Welfare Division, the Department of Social Welfare, or Child, Youth and Family.
Finance
Finance's focus is to maximise the services MSD can provide from the funding it is given and minimise the effort in meeting fiscal responsibilities by having efficient and effective financial forms, processes and systems.
People
The People team ensures that the Ministry has the organisation, people and capabilities required to deliver on the Government’s outcomes and priorities.
Information Technology
The IT team manages the strategy, design, development, operation, maintenance and support of the Ministry’s information systems and infrastructure.
Procurement Solutions
Procurement helps deliver sustainable, innovative and value-for-money public services.
Property and Facilities
This team helps deliver safe and fit for purpose environments and support services.
Social Services Accreditation
The Social Services Accreditation Team provides assurance to government, that providers have the capability and capacity to deliver quality social services to communities.
They do this by assessing and working with providers to ensure they meet a consistent set of standards (and specialist standards) that meet legislative and policy requirements. Once the standards are met a provider is given accreditation.
