Oral Item - Delaying the New Zealand Superannuation and Veteran's Pension Legislation Amendment Bill

The aide-mémoire of 20 May 2020 provided advice for Minister Sepuloni’s meeting on 27 May 2020 with the Cabinet Social Wellbeing Committee regarding her plans to table a Supplementary Order Paper in the House to delay the commencement of the New Zealand Superannuation and Veteran’s Pension Legislation Amendment Bill (the Bill). Cabinet agreed to delay the date of implementation of the Bill from 1 July 2020 to 9 November 2020, as detailed in the Minute of Decision – SWC-20-MIN-0056. The Ministry of Social Development published news of the delay following the Cabinet committee decision.
