Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry – Apology from the Ministry of Social Development
Today at Parliament, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon delivered the formal apology for the abuse and neglect of children and young people in care in Aotearoa – New Zealand.
Ministry of Social Development Chief Executive Debbie Power also delivered an apology on behalf of the Ministry, along with six other public service leaders.
Providing apologies was among the recommendations of the Abuse in Care Royal Commission, which delivered its final report, Whanaketia, in June 2024.
