Housing Support Assistance Amendment (No 2) - Notice of change 2020

This instrument amends the Housing Support Assistance Programme to extend, until 30 June 2021, the temporary changes that were made to rent arrears assistance earlier in 2020.
This instrument comes into force on 30 December 2020.
It includes:
- an increase to the maximum grant of rent arrears assistance from $2,000 to $4,000
- removal of the requirement that applicants are eligible for rent arrears assistance only if they are not eligible for other financial assistance for rent arrears, and
- some changes related to amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act 1986.
