Direction in relation to Emergency Benefit and Benefits on Ground of Hardship Amendment - Notice of change 2020

The Minister for Social Development has signed an instrument that amends the existing Direction in relation to Emergency Benefit and Benefits on Ground of Hardship.
This instrument comes into force on 9 November 2020.
It includes 2 new eligibility categories for when MSD is exercising its discretion under section 63 of the Social Security Act 2018.
The 2 new categories are for applicants who:
- are caring full-time for a superannuitant spouse or partner, and
- have a superannuitant partner and are the principal caregiver of a dependent child.
