Housing Monthly Report

The Housing Monthly Reports are a regular pulse-check on housing in New Zealand. The monthly report is a subset of the information provided in the Housing Quarterly Reports.

This includes details about applications on the Social Housing Register, the supply of public and transitional housing, and people receiving the Emergency Housing Special Needs Grant.

The monthly report also keeps track of the progress being made to deliver around 6,400 more public housing places by June 2022 – about 1,600 places per year on average by Kāinga Ora (used to be Housing New Zealand) and Community Housing Providers.

Note: from September 2018 the Housing Quarterly Report is published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
