Care and Protection Family Group Conferences
The Family Group Conference (FGC) process is central to care and protection and youth justice decision-making. It brings family and key professionals together to combine their thinking about a case and search for the best solutions.

The table below shows the total number of children and young people involved in a Care and Protection FGC, by FGC type. Youth Justice Family Group Conferences
When young people offended, Child, Youth and Family wanted them to get back on track as soon as possible and make good decisions in the future. Child, Youth and Family organised a Family Group Conference (FGC) for the young person, their family and the victim of their offending to meet and talk about the impact of their actions. The Youth Justice Family Group Conference developed an appropriate action plan to hold the young person to account for their offending, prevent further offending, and repair the harm caused to victims, family and community.
