Community Outcomes Process
This report provides an update on the Ministry of Social Development's involvement in the Community Outcomes Process.
The Community Outcomes Process is a key component of the Local Government Act 2002, where local government identify and measure what is important to local communities through a process of consultation, planning and reporting.
The Ministry of Social Development:
- has contributed to the process from its inception and continues to actively support local government in achieving community outcomes
- leads or participates in a number of intersectoral groups and structures that enable agencies to work across sectors and address community outcomes
- is helping to implement and achieve the community outcomes by leading or contributing to specific projects.
Examples have been put together to provide a snapshot of what the Ministry of Social Development is doing to contribute to the Community Outcomes Process. The report highlights examples of collaborative projects in the regions and is not intended to be a comprehensive stocktake.
