Research ethics

Our Research and Evaluation team have developed ethics processes that we follow for all our research and evaluation work. They’ve also set up an independent Research Ethics Panel that provides ethical advice.

Research Ethics Panel

The Panel provides advice to government research and evaluation teams across the social sector. They can:

• review ethics assessments
• provide advice on managing ethical risks and issues.

The Panel meets formally every 2 months.

Health and Disability Ethics Committee

If your work is being reviewed by the Health and Disability Ethics Committee (HDEC), the Research Ethics Panel won’t need to review it.
