Social Development Minister, Carmel Sepuloni, has confirmed Budget 2019 funding for the next wave of data collection by the Growing Up in New Zealand study.
"A Wellbeing Budget boost for New Zealand’s largest study of child development will help the Government design the best possible services and policies to increase the wellbeing of our children and families," said Carmel Sepuloni.
The University of Auckland study is following a cohort of more than 6,000 children from approximately 12 weeks before birth, with the next data collection wave to cover the children as they turn 11 years.
