Government announces initiatives to house more people in need

The Government has announced over $100m in support to tackle homelessness, and support people in urgent need this winter.
As part of Budget 2018, $63.4 million has been committed to support and expand the Housing First programme as the primary response to end homelessness.
Winter 2018 response
In addition, immediate action is being taken for winter 2018. With a $37 million investment, government agencies, frontline services and community providers to deliver 1,500 more public, transitional and Housing First housing places and ensure that no one in need of help with housing goes unsupported.
