Working with Pacific people

A Pacific Strategy and Action Plan to improve the overall wellbeing of our Pacific families and communities is being launched in October 2019.

The first step toward this goal was the formation of steering and reference groups to inform the creation, development and implementation of the strategy and action plan.

The Pacific Steering Group was set up to ensure there were competent and experienced Pacific leaders that could govern and steer the successful development and implementation of the strategy and action plan.

The Pacific Reference Group will ensure that actions and initiatives that come out of the strategy and action plan are effective for Pacific.

Formation of steering and reference groups

Social Development Minister Carmel Sepuloni announced the formation of both groups at MSD’s National Office in February 2019.
