Preventing Physical and Psychological Maltreatment of Children in Families

This report is a literature review of research on preventing physical and psychological maltreatment of children in families. The review identifies the risk factors for child abuse and neglect and also identifies what can help prevent child abuse.

A focus of the research was determining the motivations that enabled adults in the family and the community to intervene when they suspect child abuse.
