Viv Rickard – Deputy Chief Executive, Service Delivery
Role and responsibilities
Viv leads our Service Delivery group which provides services to over one million New Zealanders.
His group is responsible for:
- providing entitlements and services
- designing and developing services
- optimising channels
- delivering programmes
- developing the regions
- managing service integrity.
Service Delivery includes Work and Income, StudyLink, services for seniors, integrity services and frontline housing support.
Background
Viv came to MSD after an extensive career in the NZ Police where he held a wide range of roles including Deputy Commissioner District Operations, Deputy Commissioner Resource Management, Assistant Commissioner Special Operations and Assistant Commissioner Operations, Crime and Investigations.
Viv worked on secondment at MSD from 2014 for two years, in two Deputy Chief Executive roles - Social Sector, and Child, Youth and Family. He also acted as Chief Executive for three months.
