What working for MSD means to me
Working for MSD gives me the opportunity to play to my strengths and my passions. I love problem solving and helping others to achieve their goals and aspirations. Training as a lawyer confirmed that I wanted to help people but I knew that I needed the social good aspect in my career too. Knowing that the work I do alongside my team to support our frontline to support and enable the people of New Zealand gives me immense satisfaction.
Being a senior leader at MSD comes with huge responsibility not just for delivering on our work but to inspire and lift up our people to be the best they can be. It also means having a safe and secure workplace and supporting our people to reach their potential and have great mental wellbeing.
Background
Melissa, a lawyer by profession, has held a number of senior leadership roles at MSD, including the Independent Children’s Monitor, Legal Services; Health, Safety and Security; the Office for the Chief Executive; as well as working in the Minister’s office and the former Family and Community Services. She has been General Manager Health, Safety and Security at the Ministry of Justice.
